Handyman/Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our growing team. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing repairs, preventive maintenance, and upkeep of building systems, suites, and common areas across multiple properties. This role requires a hands-on professional with strong problem-solving skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to residents and tenants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily inspections, checks, and logs on building systems.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance tasks, including basic maintenance of boiler systems.
  • Troubleshoot and complete repairs promptly to minimize downtime, coordinating with contractors when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities.
  • Complete daily rounds of common areas to ensure cleanliness, safety, and functionality.
  • Survey buildings and equipment to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Complete tenant work orders efficiently and professionally.
  • Perform suite turnover maintenance, including repairs, wall patching, painting, and general upkeep.
  • Handle back-to-back maintenance on month-end turnover days (repair/paint suites between move-outs and same-day move-ins).
  • Respond promptly to emergencies and prioritize urgent tasks.
  • Provide snow removal on sidewalks and doorways as required.
  • Collaborate with team members to support smooth operations across all properties.
  • Travel between multiple buildings as needed (reliable vehicle required).
  • Participate in an emergency on-call rotation.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • General knowledge of building operations and basic boiler system maintenance.
  • Hands-on experience in multiple trades, including:
  • Electrical
  • Plumbing
  • Millwork
  • Drywall
  • Painting
  • Flooring
  • Mechanical repairs
  • Ability to analyze problems and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent multi-tasking, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

  • Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:
